Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a little boy named Xiao Ming. Xiao Ming was a lively and adorable child, but he had one small problem—he was afraid to sleep alone.
Every night as the darkness fell, Xiao Ming would run to his mother’s room, take her hand, and ask her to stay with him until he fell asleep. His mother always kindly stayed with him, comforting him until he drifted off to sleep.
One day, his mother told Xiao Ming that she had to go on a business trip and wouldn’t be able to stay with him at night. Xiao Ming was worried upon hearing this, as he didn’t know what it would be like to face the night without his mother.
His mother noticed Xiao Ming’s concern and encouraged him by saying, “Xiao Ming, you are growing up, and it’s time to learn to sleep bravely on your own.”
Xiao Ming nodded, even though he was still a bit scared inside, he decided to try bravely.
That night, after washing up, Xiao Ming went into his room alone. He turned on his nightlight, which bathed the room in a soft glow, making it look warm and safe.
Xiao Ming climbed into bed, pulled up the covers, and closed his eyes. But his heart was still a bit uneasy. Then, he remembered what his mother had said: “Xiao Ming, you are a brave child.”
So, Xiao Ming began to imagine that he was a brave explorer setting off to discover a mysterious island. He pictured himself sailing under the stars, talking to them, and keeping the moon company.
Gradually, Xiao Ming’s breathing became steady, and his heart calmed down. He was no longer afraid because he knew that even if his mother was not by his side, her love and courage would always be with him.
In this way, Xiao Ming bravely fell asleep and had a sweet dream where he became a true brave explorer.
The next morning, when his mother returned home, Xiao Ming excitedly told her that he had slept alone and had a very good sleep.
His mother was very happy and proud. She picked up Xiao Ming, kissed his forehead, and said, “My brave Xiao Ming, I am so proud of you.”
From that day on, Xiao Ming was no longer afraid to sleep alone. He knew that as long as he faced difficulties bravely, nothing was impossible.
